Most private pay mental health practitioners charge from $150 to $225 for a session hour--and sometimes even more. This, in my opinion, is far too much for the average person to afford.

Why don’t you take insurance?

Health insurance companies require you to have a detailed, serious mental health diagnosis which remains on your permanent health record, and which can later be used against you.  They also demand input on your treatment plan and number of sessions.  Most of my clients are educated, high-functioning, successful people who are going through a difficult period in their lives and need a professional counselor to help them navigate through their troubling thoughts and feelings.  I insist on total confidentiality to give you the opportunity to share openly and to heal successfully.
